Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum No. 1
NOT a Phoenixville post… we traveled to Boston over the summer. One of my favorite places to visit was the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Absolutely stunning art collection… including the empty frames that still hang after an art heist back in 1990, which somehow makes it even better.
There’s a documentary about it called This Is a Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist which I have not yet seen, but I hear it’s very good.
I feel like this post would be better if I had seen it and could vouch firsthand that it’s excellent. Sorry.

Colonial Theatre
I love seeing movies (and shows) at the Colonial — a far better experience than a typical large theater. Before heading to whatever huge dark box you’re thinking of to see Bad Boys: Ride or Die, do yourself a favor and see what classics are playing here. Special shout-out to the “Classic Films” category.
Blobfest 2024 No. 4 (The Rest)

Blobfest 2024 no. 1
This weekend is Blobfest, a kitchy, super fun festival and re-enactment of the famous run-out scene from the classic 1958 film The Blob. That scene was filmed at the Colonial Theatre right here in town. More people come to watch than to actually run out, and it’s a blast.

One thing I love about our town is all the beautiful old churches. Even though I attend one that’s located in an old factory and you’d never know is a house of worship from the outside, I still love how many tall old steeples our town has.
