10.20.07 - Jessica & Bill
Posted on October 30, 2007
Jessica & Bill were married at St. Jude Catholic Church in New Jersey and celebrated with their family and friends at the Doubletree Hotel in Philadelphia. Sometimes things just come together and make the day “click.” Yes, we had wonderful weather, a great downtown location, and a totally pimped out limo bus — shower included(!) but no one used it, at least that I heard about. But what really made this day amazing was Jessica & Bill themselves… they’re simply amazing people, both of them. Their love for friends and family was obvious, and their enthusiasm for the camera made my job easy.
Sneak preview:

The shot in front of City Hall was at the top of their priority list.

When Jessica wasn’t posing for the camera, she was posing for all the honking cars…

Was it a heck of a party? Yes. Yes it was.

Congrats, Jess & Bill, and thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your day!

10.19.07 - Sara & Seth
Posted on October 29, 2007
Sara & Seth were married in a beautiful little church in Birdsboro, PA. I do believe that out of all the weddings I’ve shot this year, Sara’s family probably laughed the most… it was infectious (in a good way)! This time of year is wonderful for weddings because it’s so nice to be outside… it gets a little tricky with the light since the sun starts setting a bit earlier, but even though the ceremony was at 5pm, we still managed to get outside and have some fun.

The church was small, cozy, and beautiful.

I love it when I see picture opportunities in unlikely places. These were taking in the parking garage of the hotel, of all places.

And then we headed up to the roof of the garage to work with the grungy streetlights.
Love this series.

It’s not a cake… it’s a tart!

Old friends and babies
Posted on October 26, 2007
Becca and I grew up together… I literally don’t remember ever not knowing her. When we were 9 or 10 years old, her family moved down south. Since then we’ve only seen each other about once or twice a decade, so you’ll forgive me if it takes some getting used to when I see this person (who in the bulk of my memories is still 10 years old or younger) suddenly show up as… a mom! What’s even stranger is that we’re now the age that our respective parents were when we met. O the inexorable passage of time…
Anyway, Becca is also a photographer and wanted to get some shots of her with the newest member of their family. [Side note: my hat is off to all of you photographers who specialize in babies… it’s a whole different ballgame than what I’m used to!]
I love the grainy film look of this first one.
