From time to time, I get a call asking about one of the more challenging yet rewarding aspects of what I do: photographing an extended family. It’s challenging because there are (obviously) so many more people of whom I need to create meaningful images, and to do so in a short period of time. It’s rewarding because there are so many different relationships to capture. Personally, I love the grandchild/grandparent pictures. The pictures I have of myself and my siblings with our grandparents are some of my Favorite Things Ever.
Since I come from a large family myself — my family tree is more like a small forest — a group of 15 people doesn’t feel intimidating. The Jacquettes were a delight to work with… thank you all once again for inviting me to join you that morning!
