appleford estate wedding | alexis + alfonso

I had so much fun with Alexis & Alfonso Sasha & Poncho when I shot their engagement session in Philadelphia earlier this summer, I was really looking forward to their wedding in August at Appleford Estate. It was a heckuva day, one I thoroughly enjoyed. Not only are Sasha & Poncho one of the most welcoming couples I’ve ever had the chance to work with (I mean, c’mon, who’s thoughtful enough to send their photographer a postcard from the honeymoon?!), but working with such a talented cast of professionals always makes the day go better. Alix Jacobs made sure the day flowed smoothly, flowers were by Nancy Saam, Bucky from Scott Entertainment kept the dance floor rocking, the Rittenhouse String Quartet provided ceremony music, and Louis Anthony was shooting what I’m sure will be an amazing video. Sofia Negron also joined me to 2nd shoot for the day, and got (as usual) killer images.

Once again, I’ve probably posted far too many pictures…

One thing I love about Appleford is that they have drinks waiting for the guests as they step off the shuttle!

Love these two that Sofia got.

Sasha & some friends did a rad choreographed version of “Going to the Chapel”…

Mariachi band!

An altogether wonderful day… thank you, A&A/S&P, for allowing us to join you!

Work is and always shall be amazing. What an awesome place to photograph at!

I have to ask, how do you get some of those images so crisp looking!? Is it an processing effect that I’m not aware of? Particularly the one with the grass and place cards.

Love your work!

Ryan

Thanks for the comments everyone… Vanessa, it starts with the sharpest glass I can lay hands on, properly exposing in-camera, and then sharpening each image individually in post to get the best results. Sharpening can really enhance an image if done right… so I spend a decent amount of time making sure it’s done right!

LOVED the photos & blog, Ryan!! You captured so beautifully and sensitively the joyous moments that made up this super special occasion! Can’t wait to see the photographs “in person”!!
