When I first met with Heidi about a year ago, I knew I wanted to shoot her wedding… it was going to be different, quirky, and an absolute joy to shoot. She and Steve were married in May at the Goggleworks in Reading, PA… an old factory turned into an art gallery. We had beautiful natural light all day long, and the details were funky, brightly colored, and for the most part handmade. (Heidi was still making things for the wedding that morning!)
A big ‘thank you’ to Joe Pulcinella who joined me for the day as well… he got some killer shots, and maybe if you ask him really nicely he’ll post a few on his blog…

Heidi was quite clear: she wanted gritty urban photos… that was fine with me!

Isn’t this space cool?

Love the cake. I couldn’t decide which one to post… 2 is better than 1!

Dads usually have a look like this when they’re dancing with their daughter… It’s got to be bittersweet.

Thanks Heidi & Steve… what an honor to be a part of your day!

Awesome shots! Maybe next time I’ll get shots worthy of your blog. :o)
Hey man, I didn’t blog yours because I thought you might want to add them to your blog instead! You got some great stuff – let’s see ‘em!
Ryan, It was an honor to have YOU there for our special day! We cannot express how grateful we are for these amazing shots…the details are amazing! You know I was an art history major and love art and these are truly works of art. You got the vibe we wanted modern and edgy, we cannot thank you enough!
Ryan, amazing works as always. Next time you’re in Reading give me a shout…
I know Philly dominates when it comes to arts, culture, cuisine, etc., but I think Reading may have Philly beat in terms of dilapidated, run-down, urban, edgy environments to shoot in. I can’t even drive home from the office without thinking “Wow. I need to shoot something on that abandoned lot.”
You certainly nailed a couple of them, but there’s plenty more where that came from.
Wowzers… I have been thinking about having my own wedding at the Goggleworks but I thought it would appear as more dilapidation than celebration. These photos alone may have changed my mind. Ryan, yours is the best wedding photography I have ever seen, and this set is no exception. :) Wonderful work!
